Pencil christmas tree

Inspiration is only the first step.
Trust is the second.
Communication is the third.
Love is the final step to any relationship.
You can't hate someone you truly understand.
Know them inside and out
Even from above.
This is why arranged marriages work out.
This is why opposites can attract.

Inspired by some photo online.. The star is an ornament, the rest is scrap paper (duh!), and the stand underneath is wrinkled scrap paper, and the whole this is held together by a pencil. Figure it out.

That's all folks!

Ribbon hair piece

Hair piece. It looks kinda....ehh right now, but it's cute in your hair and hey, it's cheap and easy to make, so it doesn't hurt to try! Take a ribbon, curl it, and put it into a bobby-pin. no glue or anything, just put the pin into your hair and WOOHOO! you got the cutest little hair piece in town! works with thin hair, thick hair, or..gray hair.... but here ya go!

Perfect for the holidays and beats having your little bro or sis put the sticker bow of the presents in your hair, right?
Another piece I made, but instead of adding the ribbon, I made a bow from a drawstring piece

Scrunchie Wreath

My friend bought me a bunch of giant scrunchies and I have no idea WHAT TO DO WITH THEM! I love her, and they're beautiful, but it just....well, I don't wear big poofy scrunchies in my hair. So what do I do? Well, here's the beautiful wreath I made out of the scrunchies :)

Don't spend however much you do on buying cheap cliche wreathes or amazingly fancy wreathes that out shine your home. use this. Make a circle out of paper and tape if neccessary. Then tie scrunchies around the ring :)

My out-of-the-blue Cold

Aching skin, freezing hands, what more could there be?
Swollen throat, pounding headache, please don't you dare tell me.
Chills down my spine, stiff aching neck, I'm wearing a winter coat for cryin' out loud!
Dry sweat, heated body, I can't lose that heat.
I need it, I NEEED it,
Don't take my body heat from me.
I've become light sensitive now?
I walk like I have a neck brace?
I get to bed like I'm elderly too?
Burning pee, icy toilet seat, why oh why ME?!
I can't run because the pounding will start up
I can't shake my head or my brains will swash n' buckle over seas
I can't move my head down or the .00001 pressure change will kill me.
I can't even shiver or my clothes will let in a draft
I can't move
I can't eat
I can't even sleep
This isn't mono, oh ho, No.
This isn't the flu, God bless you.
It couldn't be the cold -- I haven't been THAT bold.
I dress warm and eat right and wash my hands whenever I could.
It started as a sore throat but this can't be all it is.
So what, you tell me what
What have I'z got, eh?

--The cold.
Darn.--

Store Display

Harris Teeters' display of soda!
Amazing! I'd buy that!

Forget just plain ol' soda, or advertising with polar bears and anything - all you need is a giant display, stacked sky high with alternating colors and sodas of every kind! Yum!

Druggies

From Hulu commercial....
Actually, excluding Hulu or the holiday season or anything really, I have to ask: Why would anyone trust energy drinks? Instant energy for hours? Doesn't that sound a bit unnatural? Monsters, 5-hr energy, and other...energy drinks.

I don't get it, but have fun being a caffine druggie!

Finals week!

What's this? What's this?
There're students everywhere
What's this?
There's panic in the air
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes
You must be kidding
Wake up, Jack! This isn't fair!
What's this?

What's this? What's this?
There's something very wrong
What's this?
There's no one singing songs
What's this?
The streets are lined with
Absolutely nothing
Everybody seems so happy
Have I possibly gone daffy?
What is this?
What's this?

Lyrics from What's this? from Nightmare before christmas with a few alterations :) teehee. don't know the legal rights for this but might as well put it here, right?

Water bottle Vase

A flower, not quite a rose
With just as much elegance. Nothing fancy,
but a simple touch of color
Adds life to any room
It sits
watching
Spreading its beauty
with all who glances its way

It may look a bit plain, but add more flowers, leave the leaves on the stem and if you want, you can take away the lable or leave it on. It's the flower that takes the spotlight, not the vase (or water bottle) you put it in.

The Heavens are opening up!

The Heavens have opened up
But what truth is this?
There is no god above the Mighty
Nature
There is no Power judging us.
There is only the One.

Us.
Us, the humans, the animals, the plants and the seas
It watches us, judging us,
But no, they do not control us.
There is no God.
Nature is the One we live by.
The one we talk to.
Our friend through life.

No worship, no religion.
Just peace, equality, Fairness in all the lands.

Something's up with Jack Skelly!

Jack, are you there?
what's that in the air?
Little white flakes of mystery?
Well, that's just silly.
They're delicate drops of joy!
frozen bits of holiday spirit
that can cheer up a little girl or boy.
Holiday spirit,
Something I know you have!

But I'm sorry you've discovered this so late,
Christmas is a wonderful time to make
these little things called cookies, you see?
They can look like you or me,
but you can eat them.
Please don't attempt
to fight it,
I just have to eat you now.
It'll all be over before you know it.

These are not mine, but they're soooo darn cute! Jack Skelly cookies!
All recipe and cookie creds to Cindy Littlefield!
Poem is (of course) mine :)

Hope this brightens up your holidays!
And if you're a college kid like me, this is your yummy study break!

Movies

As promised, here are movies!

Oh where do I begin? There are sooo many good movies!

1. Nightmare before Christmas (The movie is made of little clay figures and it's musical and the pictures are pretty and it combines the two BEST holidays!)

2. The Orphanage (creepy in the ghostly way and not in the stalker-rapist way.Original, makes you think, and any ghost movie involving children usually is good. Or reallllly old ghosts and old places with history and such is usually good. If you know any other movies like this, please comment below! I'd super appreciate it!)

3. 27 dresses (Cute little love story and Katherine Heigl is in this movie!!)

4. Kate and Leopold (awwwww the guy is so sweet, the girl is so relatable, and the whole thing is just romantic!)

5. Silent Hill (Horror movie, very original, based off of a game but still original for a movie,

6. The Ward (great twist in the end, and very intriguing up until the end is revealed. One or two gory scenes, but they don't even show it. Or atleast I didn't watch those. If I can take it, I'm sure you can too :)

7. Uninvited (like Ward but with better fashion and I love the girl's hair. And it's not quite as violent. This one's more suspense.)

8. My cousin Vinny (hilarious and clever lawyer)

9. Chicago (high energy dances and music and I love their costumes. Wish I was back in the 20's so I can wear that fashion)

10 Tangled or Princess and the frog (Cute, lovely, funny, and colorful family film but sooo much better than those 90s family movies.)

Some fun reads, Fun...watches?

Now you may be thinking - what the hell does this have to do with being creative....blah blah blah little crafts and my original work or others' works that I like and OH etc.. right? Well, technically, Books and movies are forms of art too, with writing and filming from imagination! So here are some of my faves that I'd recommend:

1. Oblivion Road (girl and I think a friend gets trapped in the middle of a snowed in short cut or local route or something...point it she and friends don't get to go home. They scavenge around for stuff, I think a guy needs to stop his bleeding by patting snow on the wound and there's some crazed murder-rapist out in the woods. I think halfway through she finds her dad, but I don't know...But the twist in the end is really good and it's an adventure story, which I know you all like, right?

2. So you want to be a wizard (harry potter in America. I think they're in NYC or some city, and it's soooooo much better than Harry potter. Or atleast I had more fun reading this than reading Harry, though Harry's pretty good too - pretty good looking! ;P

3. Poison Ink -(um...i read this awhile back... but let's try this anyway. A tatooist has evil ink which if he uses to tatoo you, the design grows and spreads and poisons your mind to act like a devil. being evil for the sake of making others miserable. The friends notice and go after him....um yea, stuff happens)

4. Fracture ( Engaging. Lots of romance. The guy is so cute! But the plot is really intriguing and adds a hint of mystery and fantasy. Idk, I liked it.)

5.Christopher pike books like Die softly and Remember me and Neal shusterman stuff like Unwind....

I know these are all young adult and stuff, but they're pretty fun. Unless you're grown up, reading the adult fiction with wayyyyy more graphic stuff, then ok, this may be too childish for you. But these are pretty good for almost anyone.

Tomorrow I'll tell you some movies, since this is realllly long already.

Ferrero Rocher Pikachu!

Cutie pie, what a cutie pie
Pika chu! Pika-
Sigh...
Where are my friends?
I just want a hug,
isn't that enough?
I guess I can be your little pet,
but why can't you be my pet?
Someone to play with
when I have time,
but someone I can leave behind
when I have something to do.
Sigh...
Pikaaaa...

Seriously, this is a one time thing, I cannot make this again if I wanted to.

Egg

Always festive, aren't you?
Wriggling through to see the light.
But what you don't see are the stars all around you.
You're blinded.
Blinded by your own bubbly light.
Child, calm down,
and you may start to see
what's already there all around you.
Diamonds shining through you,
Filling you with such warmth
Such happiness.

This is an egg. This is broken (obviously). I broke it. This is how you break an egg.

Save wrappers, Make an Ad!

Hey, what up Croutlet Viewers? Oooh, doesn't that sound like it could be some mini store in a mall? Can't wait! Anyway, forget that, I'm here to talk about free (non-retail) crafts. So today, I decided to actually do something with the 98236563467 wrappers I saved up. I mean, who doesn't save candy wrappers? They're shiny, colorful, small and lightweight, easy and cheap to collect! Hahaha yea, so I did a photoshoot with them. Wanna bet I can make these into pro advertisements? Just a bit of touch up, brighter background, some tech savviness, and I'll be good to go!

 You'd buy these right?

Aww, aren't they just CUTEEEE?

 Oh god - SWEET TOOTH!

Mmm, delish!

Poem: Suicide debate

To die or Not to die,
what a conundrum we have in life.
The spirits speak strongly to us, but
we do not listen
what is it?
don’t you hear them calling? The wind
It whispers, asking for your life.

It tells you your time has come, but no.
Not yet!
Not yet?

You,
you think you have more to do on Earth,
like a family to keep happy
a community to give back to
a life to fulfill
Your soulful duty has been served.
Selfish deeds do not make for a great entry into the after life.

I was writing a title for my eng101 paper (no kidding, really?) and I couldn't think. Ok, given, it is 4:19a.m. and I've been awake since 9a.m. the day before, so I shouldn't have this energy or even be able to think. However, somehow my eyes are not burning, and my muscles are still awake. My body tells me it's bed time when my eyes burn or when my muscles are just tired. Not sore or anything, but just tired. Tonight, they're just cold, but not much else. So it's a wonder I came up with anything at all! Ok, so my head is starting to spin now, so I'll sleep. But I just wanted to share this once in a life time chance of my actually working and being wide awake up until late. Or early since it's a.m. now.

Scarf vest

Title says it all. Take a scarf, loop it around your neck once, lay it out and belt it down. wear a tank of the same-ish color, use a pin if you want, and have fun with it.

Idea from watching manyyyy DIY clothes tutorials, lol!

Avogadro's Tomato mix

Putrid and green they say
NO! Don't!
But what do they know, eh?
NO! Please, don't.
This pile of goo would poison a whole army
if only one person ate it.
NO! NO!
Yes, but one brave soldier.
He came to the table and took out a spoon.
NO NO NO NO!
Hey, we need some food some how, right?
Well here's food, and I'm starving.
One bite, and it was green eggs and ham
All over again.

Just use some italian dressing, tomato, and avacado (not avogadro, lol) and you should be set. Yes, it look like vomit, and that's part of the reason I took a picture. The other reason I took a picture was because it's just so deliciously good and healthy and strange that you have to try it.

So go try it!

Types of movies...

There are sooo many different types of horror movies you can't just say "i like horror" and be done with it. There's gruesome torture horror (like saw, Halloween, final, orphan, house on the left), alien horror, ghosts/evil horror, zombie horror, cheesy comedy horror, dark magic horror, horror in nature ( like that python movie, kujo, jaws,…), and maybe a few other horror genres I don't know yet.

How does that relate to this creativity blog? Well, the people filming it and directing it must have some creative imagination, dark, twisted, and maybe a bit sick, but still it's original....

Oh my, too much. Actually, your creative fill for today is this:
Foil Spider!!! (hint: make the legs first, then wrap it to make the body.)

Hair Donation

Doesn't pertain to creativity, but if you're a hair stylist, I guess this could be creative to you :) I went in to donate hair and get a pixie hair cut, and this worked out pretty well. I was freaking out before, and after, it wasn't too bad.

I hated having long hair. Ok, it did look pretty, I'll it that much. But it only looked pretty when I posed. Not when I walked to class, not when I went out, especially on a windy day, and it didn't work out when I had sports. It flattened and drooped when it got hot, and it was just straight. No texture, no anything. No, I don't use products, but hey, beauty is supposed to be natural - if you need products to beautify your self (i.e. make up, hair products, perfume, cologn, de-odo... scratch that. you need de-ordorant)

Anyway, if you need products to beautify yourself, you're hiding something and you're admitting you don't look nice naturally. But my hair. Yea, my hair never looked good outside of my room, on camera, so instead of putting up with it, I dumped it. Just like with any guy who doesn't do their part in a relationship with me. My hair didn't behave with me, so once it got too long I chopped it off. Hopefully it behaves itself with someone else.

BTW, if any of you want to give back and help out, but have no time or money, just donate hair! so fun, so quick and it's freeing to be rid of all that hair. Also try donating blood with American Red Cross. It motivates you to be healthy, and you don't need anything but healthy blood to do it :)

Proud to be a donor. Happy thanksgiving! Give thanks and give back!

McDonalds

Why are you so tantilizing?
What have I ever done to you? You're just FOOD!
I'm supposed to eat you!
Other than that,
All I've ever done was praise you,
Fill you with pride.
Your juicy crunchy bites
warm and comforting.
I NEEED you!
But, I just can't.
No, I can't have you.
Not now, not anymore.
Sorry.

Mix n' Match spaghetti

Mmmm Mmmmm
Spaghetti!
Deli Deli Dish
Spack!
Homefood for Homework
Mixin' mix N'
MATCH!!
Rambling Greatness, please
STOP!

There no poem for food, as you can see. There are no words for food! Food is just made. But you can be creative without words. Don't have spaghetti sauce? No tomatoes or peas and other tomatoe sauce ingredients, for those of you who make sauce rather than buy it? Well, your meal still tasts just as good with a dash of salt, a little bit o' sugar, some honey, the barbeque, and don't forget the sweet n' sour!

I'm just messing with you! You use them separately, but you can try altogether! That's what I'm doing next time.

Wavy hair without tools!

You don't need to heat damage your hair to look like you've got naturally Beautiful hair. Just add water! and 8 hours of WONDERFUL sleep.
If you're like me, and you don't want all those machines and hair products fixing your hair just to look natural, use this tip! or maybe you already do this... Well, then, good for you!
1. Wet your hair, but have it damp, not soaking wet.
2.Then braid it. More hair per braid means more bigger looser waves. if you want tiny waves like you crimped it (is that the word? IDK these hair things), then put less hair per braid, and braid it smaller and tighter. All braids need to be tight to actuallly keep their shape, but some can be tighter than others.
3. Then sleep with it, and in the morning BAM! You'll be rocking your hair like it ain't nobody's business!

Poem

Fall Fall,
We've all fallen down.
Down to the ground with
Saaandy
Leaves are red with anger in their face
and they're twirling in a storm
to fight your ice
Ice cold gusts and
Winds of sea
Let the light of Autumn
guide My way.

Poem

Once, long ago, they were such colorful little drops.
They were little beads of joy, all the colors of the rainbow.
Cherry red, sunshine yellow,
Electric blue, lively green
But now,
well hell,
The colors have faded
their joyful colors shrinking with each passing year.
They come in uniform plastic containers,
with instructions and no pictures
What happened to those playful cartoons?
the Boy popping a gumball in his face?
Why do I dread these little candies now?

BTW, this isn't supposed to be dark. just seemed the only thing that I could make out of this picture. Even with a playful twist to the tone, it would still come back to drugs.

Note Pad

Think
Shhh, i'm thinking.
Yes, i'm writing NO! i mean thinking!
Yes, now i'm playing.
multitasking!
Can't you play card games and think? No?
Well, thinking comes first. Then drawing.

This is left over scraps from a foam board project. I used toothpicks to make them stand up, and added the stickie notes ontop as a little stickie note holder decoration. Have fun with this and DON'T go crazy and stab yourself with the toothpicks!

Oh, if only this were lifesize. My childhood would've been soo much more fun with a giant pad of paper and cards to match! Anyway...

Sock Wraps

Hong hong hong hong
hong mao hong mao,
ni shuo sum ma?
Panda bear likes you!

Hong hong hong hong
hong mao hong mao,
ni shuo sum ma?
I want you to like me!

If you ever have any old girl socks, like the little kiddie ones with lace or pictures or little frog heads on the sides, and you want to keep the pretty picture without keeping the dirty sock, this is the craft for you! cut off the cuffs and (obviously wash it first) wrap it around something. They're socks, so they can stretch to fit most column like things. You could sow the edges and use them as wristbands too! I have anothe rpair I do that with. I have a boot jar here, but you probably could use a lamp or cup or be creative!

Cereal box Lamp

Fruity fruity
loopy loopies
the delicious carbs
fill me
Up.
Sugar packed, protein packed,
Soaked just the right amount
with a hint of creamy coolness
from fresh milk.

Cut-outs used appropriately. Obviously.

Origami Lace Hanging Decoration

Along the spirals and the walls they keep
running up along the creeks
Fly away, they say,
but do they reall fly away?
No, they are free,
but they'll always come back next year.

Well, this is actually something I did to get rid of the leftover lace cuffs. Are those things called cuffs? I really don't know and seriously don't care. I just know that I had too little of the lace left over to use, but too much to just throw away, so here it is, serving its duty as decor! I hung this up in my room, but You guys do whatever makes you happy.

Wallpaper... maybe not

Fly fly,
the butterfly flew
flies flies,
maggot stew.

Flood fled
the mummies are dead.
Fed fed,
Now we are dead.

Said said,
the butterflies and I.

What do you do with old clothes? toss them? What if they're beyond repair, beyond donatable, beyond anything, actually, but a pattern on the shirt is still intact? What if you reallllly liked that pattern and it was the highlight of the shirt and you don't want to just toss it, to be forgotten in the abyss of human waste? Ok, it's not that tradgic, lighten up! cut out the pattern, shape it up pretty and pin it, nail it, tape it, glue it to a wall or some column and make a super fancy "wall paper." I used jeans to cover the sides of my window.

Whatever you do, remember, HAVE FUN!

Origami Ceiling

Twinkly twinkle little Swans,
I know you are actually cranes,
but I wonder how you fly
Fly so high and (don't) touch the sky?
Twinkle twinkle little swans,
I see stars above your neck.

Well, one way I found was really helpful in cleaning up a clutter of origami was to hang it up! they're cute and calming, they add color to an otherwise blank room, and they're easy to make! String and paper, that's all this is. and pins, but you can't see those... And you don't need to have the swans if you don't want - this used to be only stars until I realized I had an over load of swans.
